Spirited Away

'Spirited Away' is the director Miyajaki Hayao's most famous theatrical feature film who also created 'Princess Mononoke' four years previously. In Japan, 'Spirited Away' had record breaking 24 million audiences in the box office. It is the first animation feature to be awarded with the Golden Bear in the Berlin film festival.

Miyajaki Hayao's Studio Ghibli is famous for its stylized visuals and therefore does not collaborate with overseas studios.

Yet, during the 1997, while starting digital production in 'Princess Mononoke', Ghibli exclusively appointed DR as its one and only overseas' partner.

In 'Spirited Away', DR participated in 30 % of the digital production and in-between animations.

When the work was done in June, 2001, Studio Ghibli expressed the complete satisfaction and right after releasing of the film in Japan, the director and major Japanese staff visited DR studio to appreciate the efforts.
